TravMedia's IMM North America 2026 Marks 10th Anniversary with Record Engagement

New York City – January 26, 2026 TravMedia celebrated the 10th anniversary of IMM (International Media Marketplace) North America with record participation, reinforcing its position as the travel industry's premier media marketplace. Hosted at the Javits Center, the two-day program brought together more than 1,150 delegates across The TravMedia Summit and IMM North America 2026.

The event connected more than 550 leading North American media with over 450 international travel and tourism brands, represented by more than 600 industry and PR professionals. Across two days, delegates participated in 11,500 prescheduled one-on-one meetings, delivering exceptional engagement and meaningful business outcomes.

Visit California returned as the Premier Partner of IMM North America and Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) as the Luncheon Sponsor, alongside valued partners including Tourism Australia, Rimrock Banff Emblems Collection, Experience Glendale, Visit Carlsbad, and Memphis Art Museum.

During the luncheon, TravMedia presented The TravMedia Awards North America 2026, recognizing outstanding contributions to the industry. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Larry Bleiberg for media and Laurie Armstrong Gossy for PR. Additional honors included the TravMedia Travel Writer of the Year to Ashlea Halpern and the TravMedia PR of the Year to the Maine Office of Tourism, represented by Gayle Conran of ConranPR.

Visit California led a strong presence at IMM North America 2026, with more than 50 tourism partners participating in the California Pavilion. As Premier Partner, Visit California took the stage at the IMM luncheon to share key destination insights and media engagement initiatives. Canadian partners joined Destination Canada within the Canada Pavilion, showcasing diverse regional storytelling opportunities for international media, while the Hawai'i and Tourism Australia pavilions further highlighted the global reach of IMM, with destinations presenting compelling narratives and experiences to attending media.

The cruise sector featured strong participation from Celebrity Cruises, Cunard, MSC Cruises, Princess Cruises, and Seabourn Cruise Line, as well as CLIA.

Hotel and Resort partners included Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Sandals Resorts International, Vail Resorts, and Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

Tour operators G Adventures, Intrepid Travel, and Abercrombie & Kent, plus transportation partners Alaska Railroad, Brightline, and East Japan Railway Company connected with media.

A record 550 media professionals attended The TravMedia Summit and IMM North America 2026, representing leading outlets such as Travel + Leisure, National Geographic, CNN Travel, Condé Nast Traveler, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, BBC Travel, Forbes, and Lonely Planet. The media delegation included editors, journalists, broadcasters, podcasters, and content creators who left the event equipped with new story ideas and industry connections to share with audiences worldwide.
