A New Chapter of Winter Pride Arrives in Whistler

Tourism Whistler

Whistler, B.C. – Tourism Whistler is excited to announce a new chapter of winter Pride is coming to the resort, with the Whistler Pride Festival taking place January 25 to February 1, 2026.

Under the strategic oversight of Tourism Whistler, and with support from the Resort Municipality of Whistler and Whistler Blackcomb, the 2026 Whistler Pride Festival will be a weeklong celebration of belonging and inclusivity with programming led by TFD Presents, the event production company selected through an open RFP process this fall.

“Whistler has a long and proud history of being welcoming and inclusive to all and we are looking forward to ushering in a new era of Pride celebrations in the resort,” said Tory Kargl, Vice President of Destination & Market Development at Tourism Whistler. “This will be a transition year for the Whistler Pride Festival as we establish our new vision. We are excited to work with our community and our new Festival Manager to continue this beloved tradition and signature Whistler event.”

Whistler's winter Pride festivals—dating back over 30 years—have been recognized globally within the 2SLGBTQ+ community as one of the most important ski weeks of the year and a reflection of Whistler's long-standing commitment to being a safe, welcoming, and inclusive destination.

With support from resort partners, Tourism Whistler decided to launch the new Whistler Pride Festival after ending all business dealings and affiliation with the Whistler Pride and Ski Festival earlier this year.

“We felt it was important to step in and take ownership of Whistler's annual Pride celebration to ensure a collaborative and united approach, as well as a positive and reliable experience for both festival attendees and businesses,” adds Bree Eagles, Manager of Events at Tourism Whistler. “The Whistler Pride Festival will be a fresh start that honours long-standing traditions while introducing new events and experiences.”

Set against Whistler's world-renowned mountains, snow, and vibrant Village energy, the 2026 Whistler Pride Festival will blend on-mountain adventure, lively après, unforgettable parties, and inclusive cultural programming.

One of Whistler's most beloved Pride traditions—the free daily guided ski and snowboard program – will remain a cornerstone of the Whistler Pride Festival schedule. Led by the same dedicated volunteer leadership team that has supported the program for many years, it will continue to offer a social and welcoming way for skiers and riders of all abilities to experience Whistler Blackcomb together.

“I am incredibly honoured and humbled to have been chosen to lead the Whistler Pride Festival into a new era,” said Tommy Dolanjski, CEO of TFD Presents. “Over 20 years ago I walked into my first Whistler Pride event and I have never felt like I belonged somewhere more. To be surrounded by a community where I felt welcomed and safe was something that has lived with me since then. My team and I look forward to welcoming everyone to Whistler in 2026 and hope that what we create together brings that same feeling I had two decades ago to everybody that comes to the festival.”

The full schedule of festival events is expected to be released in December. For more information, visit whistlerpridefestival.com, subscribe to the Whistler Pride Festival newsletter via the form on the website, and follow the Whistler Pride Festival on Facebook and Instagram.
