SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2025) – The 2025 California Visitor's Guide: The Best of California is now available, featuring everything from can't-miss restaurants and dreamy stargazing spots to theme park secrets and a beginner's guide to skiing.
The guide's launch comes following wildfires that hit parts of Los Angeles County in early January. LA is ready to welcome guests, with the vast majority of the region's iconic sites and experiences open. In fact, 98% of the county was not in a burn area. LA's local businesses and residents depend on tourism, and there's no better way to help the region recover than to plan a trip now.
“The 2025 California Visitor's Guide is a great resource for planning your next trip to the Golden State – including destinations in and around Los Angeles,” said Caroline Beteta, president & CEO of Visit California. “California's unique culture and free-spirited attitude is reflected throughout the guide, and we welcome travelers to come experience it firsthand.”
Cover star John Stamos, an Orange County native, embodies the infectious, irrepressible energy that makes California the Ultimate Playground. In an exclusive interview, Stamos talks about his love for the Golden State, from growing up in SoCal and performing with the Beach Boys to horsing around at Knott's Berry Farm with family and planning his umpteenth visit to Disneyland.
“I'm a California boy and I play in a California band,” Stamos says. “I've lived other places, and I learned that I can't live anywhere else.”
Highlights of the 2025 California Visitor's Guide include:
- “A to Z Restaurant Guide,” showcasing California's diverse restaurant scene.
- “Reasons to Visit California in 2025,” highlighting new openings and can't-miss offerings throughout the Golden State.

The guide also includes seven “Splurge vs. Save” charts that showcase experiences for every budget and new “Key Ingredient” regional pages, highlighting signature foods tied to specific regions of the state.
The free 500,000-circulation publication is available at California Welcome Centers, regional tourism offices, and online at VisitCalifornia.com/travel-guides. It will also be distributed in March with three Dotdash Meredith publications: Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, and Real Simple.
