HERITAGE HOTELS & RESORTS IS CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF HOSPITALITY SERVICE IN NEW MEXICO IN 2025
With festive events and community collaborations to continue throughout 2025, the iconic hotel group releases a rundown of epic anniversary celebrations
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (January 23, 2025) — This year, New Mexico's largest independent hotel group, Heritage Hotels & Resorts, is reflecting on a major milestone - 20 years of hospitality serving and creating memories with visitors to the Land of Enchantment. To mark the monumental occasion, the Heritage team has planned a year-long calendar of special events and new guest experiences that offer a glimpse into the brand's direction for the future.
“Proud doesn't begin to cover the general feeling across our company right now,” says Jim Long, Founder & CEO of Heritage Hotels & Resorts, Inc. “The travel landscape was very different when we founded the company back in 2005, but our mission has remained the same all these years. Cultural preservation is the driving force behind every business decision, hence the word 'heritage' holding such a prominent place in our name. I want to take this opportunity to thank our incredible employees and community partners – all of whom we consider family – for helping us reach this milestone. Together, we have made a significant impact on New Mexico's tourism industry over the last 20 years.”
“We've built an incredible legacy over the last 20 years for Heritage that includes expanding into four markets across New Mexico and growing the portfolio very intentionally to 11 hotels and resorts,” says Long. “But I won't dwell on the past. Our focus is on the next 20 years, and we have ambitious plans. Supporting our talented local artists will continue to be a significant priority for Heritage as we continue to grow and deliver thoughtful, authentic experiences for our guests. We're also investing more heavily in developing Heritage's culinary arm. Not only is culinary tourism a notable global market – New Mexico has so many rich cultural influences that contribute to the diverse culinary landscape here, and it's worth celebrating.”
As more details and the full lineup of anniversary celebrations are to be released throughout the year, a few flagship experiences that travelers can look forward to include:
The Heritage Retreat – Heritage will be launching a new kind of wellness retreat in May 2025. Coined “The Heritage Retreat,” the new wellness experience is a progressive spa retreat that guides guests on a holistic healing journey during which they'll visit four spas within the portfolio to complete healing rituals for the mind, body, and soul. The Heritage Retreat is a very special experience that taps into some of the state's most sacred sites, energy vortexes, and healing practices – guiding guests from El Monte Sagrado to Eldorado Hotel & Spa, Inn & Spa at Loretto, and Hotel Chaco. With a focus on creating authentic and culturally rich experiences, guests will hopefully leave with a stronger connection to the land.
Concert in the Sky – The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, taking place October 4–12, 2025, is a time-honored annual tradition within the state that is known around the world. Following the successful voyage of Heritage's first balloon during the 2024 Fiesta, the hotel group will be taking it further this year by partnering with Indigenous artist Virgil Ortiz to design a new hot air balloon to fly through the Albuquerque sky. The balloon will reflect New Mexico's rich cultural heritage, capturing its deep-rooted history and traditions. But that is not all, from that custom balloon, Heritage is planning to host New Mexico's - and possibly the world's - first concert in the sky.
“The saying 'time moves fast when you're having fun' is a perfect description for the past two decades,” says Adrian Perez, President & COO of Heritage Hotels & Resorts, Inc. “This is thanks to the great leadership and strong vision and passion for New Mexico that Jim has embodied – and I am honored to have been part of it since the beginning. We are different, and have always looked beyond the ordinary to immerse guests into the spirit of the Land of Enchantment. As we enter this next chapter, we are excited to showcase these same values as we grow our expertise into the culinary space. With our recently launched brand, Heritage Restaurant Group, we are focused on bringing new creative culinary and beverage concepts to our vibrant communities, helping place New Mexico on a national stage to be recognized as a top culinary destination.”
