Visit Irving

(Irving, TX) - If all work and no play make Jack a dull boy, that's because he never attended a meeting in Irving. Here, we don't think you need to separate meetings from entertainment. Rather, through our unique venues and walkable city center, planners are encouraged to find new and innovative ways to engage groups. And in Irving, it's easy.

 Center Stage Means Convenience

Centrally located between the East and West coasts, Irving is less than a three-hour flight from either direction. The city is also situated between—and just minutes from—Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport and is intersected by five major interstates. Service aboard the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) makes getting around the area simple with two rail stops in Irving connecting into downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Orange Line connects Irving's Las Colinas area to downtown Dallas, as well as to DFW International Airport.

“We chose Irving for its central location to both DFW and Love Field. The Irving Convention Center afforded us the opportunity to utilize every square inch of the facility to host our annual sales meeting and demonstrate new products. With its amazing architecture, flexible meeting space, and surrounding hotels and restaurants within walking distance, it was the perfect place to host our team members,” Corrie Brock, Branding and Communications Manager, Hilti North America.

Irving offers culture, adventure and entertainment all in one compact, accessible footprint. Visiting groups

have the convenience of experiencing all of it from the central hub of Las Colinas, a master-planned community with a thriving, walkable entertainment district. This visitor's destination is anchored by the Irving Convention Center, connected Westin headquarter hotel and the Toyota Music Factory. This well-designed “convention district” gives meeting professionals a perfectly efficient destination package.

“This easily accessed, pedestrian-friendly 40-acre district has provided a wide range of entertainment and dining options to fill free nights on the convention schedule, as well as provided an excellent venue for opening or closing night events,” said Maura Allen Gast, executive director of the Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Modern Meeting Spaces Elevate Events to Rock Star Status

With more than 90 hotels and 13,000 rooms, from luxury resorts to all-suite extended stay to economy, Irving offers a diverse selection of rooming options to fit the needs of many meetings and conferences. The city's 17 full-service meeting hotels provide more than 200,000 square feet of meeting space. Modern and well-equipped, these facilities include everything from private suites and state-of-the-art amphitheaters to magnificent ballrooms and formal boardrooms. Meeting facilities incorporate large, well-lit work areas wired for telecommunications and state-of-the-art audio-visual technology for multimedia presentations and teleconferencing.

Irving Convention Center Sets the Stage for Success

There's a lot about the city of Irving that defies convention – including the Irving Convention Center itself. Clients love its proximity to the airport, individual breakout spaces, column-free exhibit hall and one-of-a-kind design. Designed as a multi-functional building, the center includes a 50,000-square-foot, column-free exhibit hall, a 20,000-square-foot ballroom and 20,000 square feet in breakout meeting space. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer scenic vistas, and a stacked layout enables concurrent events to have distinct spaces. For big groups, the vertical design translates to efficient flow between sessions. The convention center's unique design also includes outdoor meeting spaces - fresh-air plazas and patios – paired with Las Colinas waterfront views.

Perhaps the center's most surprising differentiator is something you don't normally associate with convention facilities: upscale, inventive food. The menu rivals that of a five-star hotel. Chef Alvarez - who oversees 300+ events yearly worth $3M - was recognized as a 2019 Unsung Hero. Planners cite the F&B as a reason to return year over year.
