Exhibit C Gallery
Exhibit C Gallery, Oklahoma City's premier First American art gallery, showcases a variety of art mediums from First American artists living around the world. The Chickasaw Nation-owned gallery will occupy a new 10,000 square-foot multi-use space between OKANA Resort and the First Americans Museum in Horizons District.
In addition to the art within the walls, the exterior of the building will showcase the work of Chickasaw artists Addison Karl and Natalie Miller. Karl's work, commissioned for the entryway installation, uses a cold patina on copper paneling to create the appearance of aging. Miller's work, commissioned for the building's exterior mural, is a vibrant piece featuring a scissor-tailed flycatcher, sun, clouds and the cross shape of the four seasons/directions embracing the Chickasaw people and the nature surrounding us.
Inside the gallery, Chickasaw artist Jimmy Dean Horn Jr. has created a repeating, Southeastern Chickasaw design for the wall behind the check-out counter.
The inaugural exhibition in the new location will be Emergence: Explorations of New Horizons. This exhibition focuses on new beginnings, regeneration and creation, in celebration of a new chapter and the gallery's new home in Horizons District. It features an inspiring collection of works by Chickasaw artists, including Addison Karl, Billy Hensley, Brenda Kingery, Brent Greenwood, Dustin Mater, Erin Shaw, Joanna Underwood-Blackburn, Lance Straughn, Lisa Hudson, Margaret Roach-Wheeler and Mike Emergence: Explorations of New Horizons will run from February 21 through July 15, 2025.
