Indianapolis is set to welcome five major luxury hotel projects, strengthening its position as a top destination for both business and leisure travelers. The announcement follows Visit Indy's securing of $1 billion in new convention business, driven by the ongoing expansion of the Indiana Convention Center. With 2024 tourism figures breaking records and hotel occupancy rates reaching new highs, these hotel developments come at an ideal time to meet the growing demand.

  1. InterContinental Hotel
170 Rooms | Anticipated Opening: This Winter
Located just off Monument Circle, the heart of Indy, the InterContinental Hotel will feature a rooftop bar with unobstructed views of Lady Victory and the iconic Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Once listed as one of Indiana's “most endangered” landmarks, the building will be transformed into a world-class luxury hotel.
  2. Kimpton Hotel
    130 Rooms | Anticipated Opening: 2026
The Kimpton Hotel will be housed in the historic Odd Fellows building at the corner of Pennsylvania and Washington streets. This $85 million renovation will include a rooftop bar, blending modern amenities with historic charm.
  3. Signia by Hilton
    800 Rooms | Anticipated Opening: Fall 2026
At 38 stories, Signia by Hilton will become the city's tallest hotel and will be part of the Indiana Convention Center expansion. The $710 million development will feature a top-level bar with panoramic views of the city. Once completed, the hotel will help make Indianapolis the national leader in hotel room connectivity, with over 5,500 rooms directly connected to the Convention Center.
  4. Shinola Hotel
    170 Rooms | Anticipated Opening: 2027
Indy will become the second U.S. city to have a Shinola Hotel, with a new 13-story tower opening in 2027. The $300 million project will include a 4,000-capacity music venue, retail space, and a pedestrian skybridge linking directly to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Pacers and Fever.
  5. 21c Museum Hotel
    150 Rooms | Anticipated Opening: 2028
The 21c Museum Hotel will transform Old City Hall into a boutique hotel featuring a public art gallery and a new 32-story tower. Estimated at $264 million, this project will further elevate the Indy's cultural appeal by combining a luxury hotel with a dynamic arts venue.

According to recent data from STR and Co-Star, Indianapolis ranks among the top 25 markets for year-over-year revenue per available room (RevPAR) growth. Over the next five years, $1.46 billion will be invested in new hotel properties, including 1,420 new rooms currently in development.
