

Massanutten, Va. – December 6, 2024 – Massanutten Resort, a premier, four-season resort located in the heart of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, announced the opening dates for its 2024-25 winter season, starting with Snow Tubing on December 7 and an exclusive preview for ski season passholders on December 13. The public will be welcomed to the slopes starting December 14, marking the official opening of ski season. With freshly made snow, a reimagined terrain park, and a host of exciting winter events ahead, Massanutten promises an unforgettable experience for all snow sports enthusiasts.
“This is one of the most exciting openings we've had yet,” said Kameron Tucker, mountain sports director of Massanutten Resort. “Not only do we have excellent early-season snowmaking, but we've also redesigned our terrain park, Mass Parks, to provide new features and challenges for skiers and snowboarders. It's going to be an incredible season.”
Winter activities begin with Snow Tubing on December 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by an Exclusive Passholder Preview Day for skiers and snowboarders on December 13 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The official Public Opening Day for ski season is December 14, with slopes open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Guests who purchase their pass by December 10 will lock in the best prices and enjoy early access to the slopes during the exclusive Passholder Preview Day on December 13. Additionally, season passholders will receive exclusive access to extended hours and the Locals Cup Race League, discounts on resort lodging, dining, retail and ski lessons, as well as free buddy passes and discounts on repair and tuning services. Special family passes for groups of 3, 4, or 5 are also available at discounted rates. Early Bird Ski Season Pass pricing is as follows:
- Adult Full Season Pass: $600 if purchased by December 10, then increases to $635
- Student Full Season Pass: $500 if purchased by December 10, then increases to $530
- Special Value Pass: $450 if purchased by December 10, then increases to $495
The newly revamped Mass Parks terrain park is a major highlight of this winter season. Snow sports lovers will enjoy enhanced rails, jibs, and other features designed to elevate the experience and provide endless fun for riders of all skill levels. The terrain park will officially open on December 14, with a special Rail Jam event, where skiers and snowboarders can showcase their best tricks and compete for prizes.
In addition to skiing, snowboarding, and tubing, Massanutten Resort has packed its winter schedule with family-friendly activities and special events to keep the fun going all season long.
- Light Up the Park: This dazzling holiday light show returns, transforming the resort into a winter wonderland. Running from mid-November through mid-January season, Light Up the Park is a must-see attraction for guests of all ages.
- HeArt & SOUL Winter Festival: Returning January 9-13, 2025, this celebration of art, culture, and community will feature live music, local artists, and winter-themed activities. The festival brings the local community together and reflects Massanutten's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Soak Up Sunday Fun Getaway: Spend Sundays this winter enjoying the thrills of Massanutten's WaterPark. Those who book a stay in a Woodstone Casa or Eagle Trace one-bedroom condo get the third night free when purchasing two or more discounted Sunday WaterPark General Admission Tickets for only $38 per person. Available January 3 - March 17.
