Santa Cruz County, California – A new choice for visitors to California's quintessential beach town will open its doors in summer 2025. Once the site of apartments and a small hotel built in 1926, the new incarnation of this historic oceanfront site will see the La Bahia Hotel + Spa, a luxury property featuring 155 rooms including 16 suites with unobstructed ocean views of the Monterey Bay.
Designed with a Spanish-Mediterranean aesthetic, the property will encompass one city block and house 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, a 4,000 square foot Bahia Ballroom, and 5,200 square feet of rooftop deck.
The property will feature four distinct culinary concepts. High Tide will take center stage as La Bahia's signature destination restaurant, a Pacific Rim-inspired concept. Street-level Low Tide Bar & Grill will boast a vibrant and convivial atmosphere, offering craft cocktails, live music and contemporary flavors. Pearl, an elegant London-inspired champagne bar, will provide an elevated imbibing experience with personalized libations, creative mixologists and a robust catalog of wines, champagnes and spirits. Gracing the edge of the oceanfront pool sanctuary, hotel guests will find Plunge, an urban oasis serving up classic cocktails and poolside bites.
A Moorish spa will feature four indoor and four outdoor treatment rooms, a sauna that overlooks Monterey Bay, two steam rooms and a rooftop Zen deck that provides clear sightlines out over the horizon. The Spa derives its inspiration from the rich sea life that calls the protected Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary home, instilling a sense of harmony and locality.
Across from the hotel, Santa Cruz's Main Beach will be the setting for recliners and umbrellas with dedicated beach butler service for guests, and beach cruisers are offered for a short ride to the legendary Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk a block away, the historic Santa Cruz Wharf or scenic West Cliff Drive nearby.
The La Bahia Hotel + Spa, an Ensemble property is now accepting reservations for summer 2025.
