World Expeditions will wrap up the year by adding a series of new exhilarating itineraries in South America's southernmost frontier: Patagonia.
The adventure travel specialist already offers several trips to the region, including the unique, off-the-beaten-track Great Patagonian Traverse, designed to appeal especially to seasoned trekkers; the addition of the new trips now offers travellers exciting opportunities such as exploring Patagonia by bike and trekking the southernmost circuit on earth.
Trek at the end of the world on Navarino Island, in Patagonia's far south
Only a handful of people undertake each year the exhilarating Dientes Circuit, the southernmost circuit on earth, on the remote Navarino Island in the far south of Patagonia (Navarino Island is part of the Chilean Commune of Cabo de Hornos, the southernmost commune in the world). Named after the Dientes de Navarino mountain range, the 26-mile remote wilderness trek follows alpine lakes, glaciers and jagged rock pinnacles offering spectacular views throughout – from the windswept Wollaston Islands and the dramatic Beagle Channel to the legendary Cape Horn, where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans meet, as well as the settlements of Ushuaia (Argentina) and Puerto Williams (Chile).
- NEW! Dientes Circuit on Navarino Island with World Expeditions (6 days) departs on various dates November-March
Cycle the legendary Carretera Austral
Also known as Route 7, the Carretera Austral extends over 700 miles, connecting 17 nature reserves in southern Chile. The new Carretera Austral is available as two trips, which can be easily combined: the northern section begins in the picturesque Puerto Varas, where your cycling will take you through some of Patagonia's most breathtaking scenery, including a thrilling climb over the Queulat slope, made up of 33 curves; from Coyhaique, the southern section continues through the southernmost section of Route 7, taking you through an ever-changing landscape of mountains, steppes, northern ice fields and stunning lakes, as well as the Patagonia National Park, created by the founder of North Face and is the largest donation of land for conservation in the world.

Get off the radar in Patagonia's expansive ice fields
A photographer's delight, this new trip has been designed for those keen to truly get away from it all. Following the Northern Ice Field, you will trek through some of Patagonia's most remote landscapes, accessible only by foot (or by helicopter), with spectacular views of glaciers, lakes and the Andes towering over it all. Starting from the idyllic Terra Luna Lodge on the banks of the turquoise General Carrera Lake, you will explore the 'Capilla de Mármol,' a beautiful maze of marble caves created by the millenary waves of Lake General Carrera; marvel at the largest expanse of ice in the southern hemisphere (apart from Antarctica); and be enveloped by the secluded Patagonian wilderness, where it is highly unlikely to even see another person.
- NEW! Patagonia - Condor Trail Adventure with World Expeditions (11 days) departs monthly November-February
World Expeditions' range of trips across Patagonia includes shorter itineraries like the 5-day Self-Guided W Trek to longer treks such as the Torres del Paine Circuit and the Fitz Roy Circuit & Ice Cap Traverse.
