PIER 39 has been doing business on the San Francisco Waterfront for over 45 years. The first commercial project built along The Embarcadero since World War II, PIER 39 paved the way for future developments beside the bay.  The PIER has welcomed hundreds of millions of locals and visitors since it opened in October 1978.

San Francisco businesses continue to emerge from the impact of the pandemic.  Thankfully, with the hard work of our merchants and community partners, PIER 39 continues to be a vibrant destination along the waterfront. We welcomed 10 million locals and visitors to The PIER in 2023 and anticipate 13 million guests in 2024. 

This past year, we have celebrated several new restaurants and retail experiences opening their doors at PIER 39, most of which are locally owned-and-operated family businesses.

KWAK has the largest selection of rubber ducks west of the Mississippi. Yes, it’s a bit daffy but incredibly irresistible.  There’s literally a duck for everyone and every occasion.  Hundreds of varieties of rubber duckies fill their store shelves. Open now!

Taco Cantina is home to their famous Puffy Tacos, classic margaritas, and Mexican beer.

Customers can choose to eat indoors or outdoors on their heated patio and enjoy the beautiful city views as well as the PIER 39 Marina and the Bay Bridge. Open now!

Fire + Ice Grill & Bar is an exciting interactive, all-you-can-eat experience.  Guests select their foods and sauces then watch it all get fired up on the grill before their eyes. Opening soon!

Humble Sea Brewing Co. is a modern but unconventional brewery serving nautical vibes and awesome ales. Complete with 20 taps of craft beer, ciders, seltzers, a beer garden, and food offerings from select PIER restaurants, this hopped-up brewery is much anticipated.  Opening soon!

PIER 39 is a 45-acre waterfront complex that is a gathering place for San Francisco locals and visitors each year. The PIER is a two-level open-air marketplace featuring over 100 restaurants, shops and attractions, all surrounded by iconic views of the Bay and San Francisco landmarks. PIER 39 also includes a five-acre waterfront park and 300-berth marina, home to the world-famous California Sea Lions. PIER 39 is a tenant of the Port of San Francisco.
